The University of Leeds has scholarships for African students wishing to undertake postgraduate study in African Studies in Leeds, which include:

Leeds Anniversary Research Scholarship (LARS) – various deadlines depending on Faculty

SPDC Niger Delta-University of Leeds Postgraduate Scholarship  

Commonwealth Scholarships 

Dan David Prize

Other relevant schemes that may be of assistance include:

The Adrian Hastings Africa Scholarship Fund
The Fund is specifically for African applicants accepted for the doctoral programme in Theology and Religious Studies, in particular those who experience financial hardship. The Fund is not able to offer full PhD scholarships but will typically offer a bursary of £2,000-3,000 per annum to students who have already secured the majority of their funding from other sources.
