This year, African Voices activity days are being offered to primary schools in Leeds, from October 2019 to July 2020, at a subsidised rate of £65.00 per class. The cost of recruiting, training and supporting our African Postgraduates is covered by LUCAS, the fee per class is used to pay our African Postgraduates for their time. To reserve an African Voices activity day for your pupils please complete the online African Voices 2019/20 Reservation Form.
African Voices activity days are available from November 2019 to July 2020.
The African Voices activity days, delivered by our African postgraduates, are suitable for Years 5 and 6.
Prior to the delivery of your African Voices activity days you will be contacted by an African postgraduate who will arrange a suitable time to visit your school and discuss the programme.
As the African postgraduates will not be in your school for more than 3 days a DBS check is not required. In accordance with guidelines issued by Education Leeds, our postgraduates are signed in as visitors and accompanied by a teacher during the delivery of the African Voices activity programme.
Health and Safety
As the African postgraduates will be off campus you will be required to assure the University of Leeds that they will be working in a safe and healthy environment.
