Abstract

‘Does the world know we exist?’ This question underpins the talk, inviting the audience to confront what I call in my new book, ‘The refugee abyss’. It traces the displaced voices of those seeking refuge, attending to open wounds and enduring scars, while urging a movement beyond violability and disposability towards restoration and relation. The talk is not offered merely as a requiem for lives and knowledges lost. It speaks as a displaced voice itself, whose poetics unsettle dominant structures of power, knowledge and being. Offered with humility and vulnerability, it invites engagement grounded in care, curiosity and critical attentiveness.
